There are also great coffeeshop stalls selling good (and cheap) food! One such stall is the Heng Hwa (兴华) 小吃 located at the row of stalls right at the Boon Keng MRT exit, i.e. blk 27.
For just $3 you get a big bowl of 兴华卤面 noodles with plenty of 'lala' clams (easily 10 over of them) and pork slices, with cabbages (plus other vegs) and peanuts. The soup is very flavourful, with a stew like texture. Unlike local versions, the 兴华 has no dark sauce and thus appears plain in colour.
