hee... watched 881 and it is a great film...cos of a few reasons... one reason is the local flavour... the very liberal use of phrases and expressions that are somewhat more for local use. Another reason is the very interesting songs inside... I think quite a number of the songs are written by the late Chen Jin Lang. Hmm one person one half... here's the song (yeah first time i upload youtube onto blog...so mountain turtle right?)
Also thinking that i would go buy the OST for 881... and maybe blast in office!! kekeke.

My meatball soup experiment...
heh was very drunk on National Day eve... hmm that quantity is normally quite acceptable actually... except i was drinking on empty stomach... and so end up puking a lot... hmm was drinking wine at abt 6pm... 1 bottle 5 of us.... then proceed to st james... 2 jugs and i drank abt 1 jug or less... then 2 shots...volka and applesour.... then 1 tequila pop... than another jug shared (or was it pop after jug? dunno...)... not too bad wat...right? Must be cos of empty stomach...zzz
but nvr mind...
cos of the weak stomach... i tried cooking myself some meatball soup on Sunday... not bad...
quantity used: some minced meat... hmmm half the portion of what u normally get from market...
2 potatoes
1 carrot
1 onion
1 egg
some garlic
With advice from mum... I mixed minced meat with 1 teaspoonful of cornflour
, 1 teaspoonful of salt, two spoonful of soy sauce, 1 egg... and bits of finely chopped carrots and onions and bits of garlic... here's how it looks like

Rest of ingredients... chopped to correct sizes... put in and cooked... when water boils I added a bit more salt and 1 spoonful of soy sauce... maybe that's y slightly salty... but I need the salt anyway (loss of it from puking)... end up...very nice soup!!

Much better than my other experiments... ahem...

Great chicken rice n traditional steamboat (Yet Con)
Today is blogging day...cos... WoW is down for maintenance...zzz
Heh o.k. was at this place - Yet Con located at Purvis Street (near Raffles Hotel, and yesh... within 'walkable' distance for me) where they served great chicken rice. Very traditional food place. I tried not just the chicken but also their stirred fried vegetables. The vegetables have that... hmmm 'wok heh' (in cantonese) that makes it simply so good to it. Nowadays not many places could serve simple food like that with such great taste.
I tried their traditional steamboat on 2nd visit. Charcoal type, with meat all prepared (not buffet hor)... and the soup base is good!! No msg, hmm i think they put plenty of chicken bones in to stew it. The food is fresh and the ambience is like... hmm 1970s-80s type. The place is crowded so better go early... here's a pic i took:
