Went Bintan last Thurs & Fri. Overall a pleasant trip, especially how we finished the 6 bottles (plus 3 bottles of Corona) of wine. Lucky these are not too expensive wines, else the way we drank it (and spilled it on my bed!!) would surely cause 'wallet ache'...
Went swimming, an activity I've not done for ages... which made me realised how unused are some of my muscles (yah i do have them...somewhere). Swimming too has another drawback... it immediately exposed how 'white' am I. Sigh it's a good thing they never noticed the spare tyre that I have since the 'whiteness' distracted everyone immediately. Folks were playing various tyes of games, and of course earning all types of bruises....
A relaxing trip, especially enjoy the beach too. Makes me wonder... if I can live just like that for the rest of my life...would I? I don't think so,... y? Cos well...too much of good things is not good.
Would you want to live in such a place for the rest of your life? Maybe...but then... that means the person would be no different compared to the small shellfish living on the nice shore.... hmmm...

Feline Instinct

Now... Dun you folks ever feel the weird nervousness of doing presentation? I do. But actually it isn't so much the nervousness of doing presentation but more of the great number of pairs of eyes on you.
I felt the nervousness too when suddenly a group of frens turn to look at me mid-way in a chit chat among friends. So it isn't really the presentation thingy, but what i term as 'feline instinct'. Maybe it's becos I'm shy.... haa o.k. o.k. dun puke I know I'm not shy. Sob. Shyness is something I project to people who dunno me, but I'm defintely not shy. If I'm red face, it's becos of adrenaline... see below...
Now what I meant by 'feline instinct'? Have you ever stare at cats? (I love cats by the way, a close rapport with these furry creatures) If so, you would realise that when you stare/look at them, there is this immediate 'guard' stance they put up. Cos in the animal kingdom, when you stare at something, it means you are going to pounce and eat it up. So cats are scare when you stare at them... and I'm scare (of being eaten alive?!?!) when people stare at me, even if they are my frens... and the natural instinct of fight and run sets in (yah adrenaline...) nope, a girl's stare into my eyes is pretty much different from what we are talking about, so dun stray along that track.
Sigh...Friday coming and I would have over 20 pairs of eyes on me... dun eat me!!!
Oh here's a cat and me in Thailand...

Debate on Marriage
Interesting to read the debate about marriages in the papers recently.
Some folks propose co-habitation or polygamy as alternatives to marriage. This reminded me of another article some time back on the institution of marriage, where given same sex marriages and baby adoptions, the concept of marriage as something between a man and woman is crumbling.
I think all these debates didn't delve into an important point which is that marriage is really between the individuals. Slamming either gender by the entire group cos of actions by individuals in the gender group is not helpful. People stray, yes they do. People having multiple partners in addition to their spouse, yes they do. But that doesn't make the entire man or woman grp as strayers or people who forget their marriage vows. Colouring the whole debate as man wins or woman wins, morally or legally, still doesn't question the purpose of marriage. Giving reasons like the particular husband's bed performance is unskilled or that man in general has greater tendency to stray doesn't help.
People stray for many reasons, many of which would never be understood totally by others who are not involved. Straying also takes many forms, from 'bioing' a chio bu who walk past to actually having bed activities with a girl (not your wife) whom you love deeply too. Polygamy or co-habitation could be options for some groups, not neccessary useful for everybody. A person with tendency to stray, will stray, whether he is currently staying with his girfriend (co-habit) or has 10 wives. Errr by 'he' i meant both groups, not just guys.
As for my views? Hmm, have fun in whatever ways you need before you say the marriage vows... then you would have truly understood the other alternatives and acknowledge that these alternatives are not meant for you, or else don't get married. This is also useful as you proceed into marriage life later and temptations start, you would truly know the consequences before either rejecting these 'opportunities' or accepting them.
So singles....ahve fun, truly, in whatever ways you want...so that if one day you do say 'I do' to somebody, there is no nagging feeling of 'what if'....
Oh, I also dunno what's the purpose of marriage....if I do get married one day (big if....), I'll know...

Boring Sat Nite
A boring Sat nite having a crappy MSN chat with another 2 of my friends while listening to Xin4 Fu2 Che1 Zhan4. Playing Maple on the side... Just wrote the cheque to the taxman, ouch!
Would be glad if I have a glass of port with me... maybe I'm feverish from sleeping too much just now... gives a new meaning to the word Sat Nite Fever... (pic from my trip to London)

Hmm let me go check if I still have any bottles of wine/sherry/port/whatever left somewhere... nite...
