Identity Crisis People

Saw an I-S article about Singapore writers. It seems to point out a number of reasons why there is a lack of writers here, e.g. publishers issue, school syllabus issue...etc. This somehow reminded me of the many accusations that float ard here... like lack of artists lah, lack of scientists lah (e.g. no Einstein will ever apear here), lack of whatever whatever...

Is this truly so?

Is this our pple's sense of insecurity at work, where we simply want everything that other people has? I think it is also a sense of identity crisis, where we have a constant need to redefine ourselves and so there will bound to be someone out there who said we have not enough of 'whatever'.

Hmm can't pple just recognise the basic fact that time is needed to grow a culture? Often we accuse those in the authority of trying to hasten some achievement, well, aren't we commoners doing the same thing? haaa...

Oh, speaking of identity crisis.... my sis just told me that she saw a person who looks exactly like me, wearing my expression when he laughs or otherwise.... die, i also got identity crisis...

First Driving Lesson (from my previous blog)

Got near to 3 hours of driving today... haa quite fun! :p

Never thought that I wld like driving but well the instructors quite friendly and there is a fair bit of fun of controlling the car ard the circuit...
Went gym after tat, hmm still somewhat tired after last nite so I didn't run as much as I want to, but well it's a slow jog anyway so not tat bad...
Have to go back office on Fri, sigh...;it's half a day oni and I'll just spend the time packing... guess I'll miss the place quite a bit. Rare tat I'll miss a workplace, hmm but after two years, the place where I spend a large part of my waking time in wld definitely be an impt place yah? Hmm guess I'll still go back on some sundays, eh then again, maybe not... hee
So far this's a private blog, haven't shared it with anyone yet. The introvert in me says I must not, but well, if u don't share, why write blog? When i manage to kill off the introvert voice, I wld share...
Oh, I was reading someone else's blog and realise that I've nvr really go out with my sis b4. Hmm the last time was when I was in pri/sec? When I brought her to the lib...
Hmm I shld try to go out with her, at least share some sibling time together, b4 I got too bz, or she got occupied by other things liao.... haa which I think wld happen real soon (bet she never know her bro is so gossipppyyyy.... hee hee).

Watched Shrek 2, it is a nice movie!! Especially the cat, haa the adorable pair of watery eyes... hee hee hee.

Went out with my sister today... hmm she reminded me that this is only the third time I've gone out with her...haa!

Bought a few clothes, sale is coming!!! But my shoe's sole split as I come home, so gotta get a new pair soon...

Touching Day (from my previous blog)

Had my farewell dinner last nite with my colleagues at Amara Hotel, Element cafe... wah hmm very touched by their good wishes and wat they felt abt me... ;) Chatted quite a bit and had some interesting conversations... they wanna make me say a speech, but seriously I dunno wat to say, so many things happening in these two years yah?
Each of them reminded me of different scenes, different thoughts, and when I looked at them again, another scene appeared in my mind... haa, so ended up a beri beri bad speech... heh..
Even though a few of them not ard but I still very touched, haa haa getting a bit sentimental yah..
Eh they got a two shirts and a lava lamp for me! :) And cards filled with words... seldom received cards filled with so much words... hee
Wore the shirt they give me today... hmm watched The day after tommorrow... o.k. show, interesting CG... haa can watch yah...
Hmm looks like I'm going to spend the next two weeks at the Lib at Orchard liao... gotta study study... sigh...

IKEA (from my previous blog)

Went IKEA with an old fren and her husband... then shop shop ard for things (not me, I juz look look). Chat chat abt old frens we know, and realised many folks tying the knot soon, hmm a bit frightening that we wld lose our freedom yah? ;p maybe having the rite ger wld make it worth it.. haa haa. My fren abt 6 months pregnant liao, so she's going to be a mum soon!! Wah, can't imagine, a bundle of joy calling u 'Mum/Dad'... eh...
Still quite amazed at the innovative stuff that IKEA has, hmm the way they design kitchen appliances.. haa quite interesting... Eh the room designs all quite gd, but seriously i think i won't be able to duplicate in my room, cos lighting and items different lah, hmm can't imagine my table not cluttered with stuff... just not possible yah...
Oh went gym before that... eh put on weight again... now 63.2... must be the buffet and lack of exercise last week...
sigh, ran 2.5km (plus cool down, it's abt 2.6++), hmm but speed slow, cos i still a bit unwell leh. Once got hols then i fall sick, wah lau, weak!! Going gym abt 4pm is good, no one ard, so almost felt like i got my own private gym haa haa! ;p
Start of the week, many of my frens gone overseas (China, London, and soon one to France)... others got job or their own marriage prep to do... left me alone, hanging ard .... o.k. me had fixed a lot of lunch and dinner appts, so no sweat! ;p
Oh well... going lib more often yah... but hopefully that place not too crowded... hmmm maybe I shld make a trip to Shanghai... just to see see... hee
